Sowing a bio-based material culture: In collaboration with Material Cultures, New Future Construction present a library of recent sustainable material innovations from the UK, alongside the installation ‘Homegrown’ recently exhibited at the the building centre. As part of the Architecture Fringe Festival 2023
Hosted at French Street the The premise of (re)Grown is simple: in order to act as the agents of sustainable change and transformation required to meet the social and environmental crises of our time, the construction industry must develop holistic strategies for sustainable intervention and rapidly adopt a de-carbonised, bio-based and circular material culture.
In collaboration with Material Cultures, New Future Construction will present a library of recent sustainable material innovations from the UK (and beyond), alongside the installation ‘Homegrown’ recently exhibited at the the building centre. The three films produced by Material Cultures will also be displayed which “reimagine how we use land at a local, regional and national scale, offering the chance for economic and social renewal, and refiguring how we live.”
The exhibition opens on June 8th 6-9pm with a panel talk hosted by Sam Patterson of BE-ST and runs until 17th June.
