About the event
GNASH presents ‘A Rose is a Rose and is Not a Rose’, bringing together a selection of artists and writers who are currently exploring humour and what it means in their work.
Drawing from ideas found in psychology, philosophy and phenomenology, ‘A Rose is a Rose and is Not a Rose’ explores the role that semiotics, language and temporality play in shaping our experience of amusement, and invites audiences to move towards an artistic and critical understanding of humour and laughter.
Featuring works by Chris Farrell, El Gold, Erica Eyres, Esther Gamsu, Elina Bry, Hester Grant, Finlay Mackay, Jacob Raymond, Charlie Hodgson, and Kate Power.
Poster design by Eden Bø Dower.
