About the event

MILK LEMONADE CHOCOLATE draws from a time when Trackie had graduated from playing in the street at his Grans bit, to coming of age with peers. The show touches on themes of ingrained masculinity, sexuality and sectarianism, using popular references to unlock memories of the people and places that helped form his artistic practice and Glaswegian identity.

A thrust back in time; to peg guns, barbaric weapons of choice in Lesmuir Drive, Yoker; to Hogmanay, staying up late to watch Only An Excuse and Chewin' The Fat followed by Jackie Bird for the bells; to the Irn-Bru carnival, a playground of winching opportunities, underage drinking and showing off.

This new body of work includes textiles, screenprints, video, sculpture, and works in neon and LED.

Trackie graduated from Glasgow School of Art in 2018 and is represented by Guts Gallery. Recent collaborators include Levi's, The Face Magazine, Kickers, and The Irn Bru Carnival.
