About the event

Mapping the Horizon is a series of walking group events taking place over the

summer, to explore transient histories, connections, experiences and dreams amid

sites of destruction and development in Glasgow.

Each walk will act as a collective forum for observing the changing urban landscape

in areas to the south, west, east and north of the city.

The act of walking together will open up a space to imagine alternative urban futures

and to consider ideas of agency, public space and community within the context of

the precarities generated under neoliberalism.

The first walk will take place on the 28th of June, meeting at 6pm outside the Pipe

Factory (42 Bain St, Glasgow G40 2LA). It will explore sites that are vacant and/or

earmarked for development in the East end. The walks are free to attend and will

take place for roughly 90 minutes. Travel support is available, please contact

info@strangefield.org for more information.
