About the event

During this drop in all ages session, we will use the hat as our format for sculpture making and storytelling of mundane and makeshift monuments! The hat can be described as a slippery object with social and historical significance, shapeshifting from silly to serious, theatrical to commonplace. Top hats, trilbys, bonnets, bearskins, fascinators, fez's, bonnets, custodians, caps... the session will explore the hat as a symbolic object, which we will unpack and use to inspire the form and construction of our wearable sculptures.

The workshop is a free all ages drop in activity and will take place during the Barras Market on the ground floor of the Pipe Factory, from 1pm-4pm with free refreshments.

The space is wheelchair accessible with an accessible bathroom. Please contact us if you have any specific access requirements you need support with to attend.
