About the event

We’re thrilled to launch our first major solo exhibition at French Street, Flywheel by Harriet Rickard, from 31st May - 23rd June. Flywheel will premiere Rickard's new film in the UK, a moving image work that explores movement, music, and memory. The project is the result of an extended period of international research, including trips to Iceland, Japan, Austria and various other places in the UK to document ideas around literary nonsense, with the exhibition designed specifically for French Street.

Harriet Rickard previously graduated from MA Artist Film and Moving Image at Goldsmiths (2019-2020), MFA (sculpture) at the Slade School of Fine Art in (2014-2016), BA (Fine Art) at the Arts University Bournemouth (2010-2013). 

Her work has been presented as part of V22 Young London (2018), Bloomberg New Contemporaries (2017), CCA Fellowship

Exhibition, Kitakyushu, Japan (2017) Wuhan Art Museum, China (2016) and the London short film festival. She works with film, sculpture installation and music.

There will be an opening drinks reception on Thursday 30th May 6-9pm.

The exhibition will be open from Friday 31st May to Sunday 23rd June. Open Wednesday - Sunday 12-5pm, with late openings 12-7pm every Thursday.

Strange Field is an accessble venue, but currently has no accessible WC.
