Faran Launch Concert

Join award-winning cellist Rebekah Woodier for the launch of her debut EP 'Faran' of original works for the cello exploring the journey of finding belonging in new places. These intimate pieces with improvisation at their heart seamlessly blend folk, minimalism, and classical contemporary music. From 'Foreigner' to the title track 'Faran' which means 'to journey' in Old English, this album is for all immigrants and wanderers, refugees and those experiencing change. Rebekah, a Slovak-American, moved to Scotland five years ago, and has since done a degree at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and begun to perform all across the UK. She is thrilled to premiere these works in Strange Field Hire's unique warehouse space in Glasgow. She will be supported by another Glasgow-based musician who is originally from the Netherlands, harpist Romy Wymer, who will be performing a selection of her original music.
