Christmas Card Workshop with The Kirkwood Brothers 👼🏻

Get Your Portrait Done Here! with James Jimbo ⛄️ New paintings and drawings  developed as part of Cabbage’s Resilience Programme by Glasgow based  artists The Kirkwood Brothers, Jonny and Jordon, build upon the central  themes of their work; neurodiversity, mental health and humour. The  brothers utilise text and imagery, often in the form of playful visual  puns, to capture snippets of thoughts and memories that are brought  forth through conversation between the brothers, evoking their  childhood, and their own experiences of disability and mental health.  The continued rise in the Cost of Living and the frustrations that come  with it are the focus of their new work, looking closely at its impact  on their mental health and the world around them. James Jimbo is  a Glasgow based drawer and painter who has been doing not much of  either since telling people he retired in 2019. This exhibition is his  eagerly unanticipated comeback. His work reflects slices of the imagery,  information and emotion encountered in daily life through news outlets,  social media, personal recollections, his mobile phone and the such  like. For this weekend, as it’s Christmas, Jimbo sharpens his crayons,  and brings back with a vengeance, his famous interactive live drawing  come installation event ‘Get Your Portrait Done Here!’ On Saturday afternoon we will be having an opening between 2-4pm 🎄 This exhibition is supported by Strange Field and Cabbage.

The exhibition will take place on the ground floor of the Pipe Factory and is wheelchair accessible.
